Terms of service

By accessing or using Kiwanjo, you agree to these terms of service and our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. If you use Kiwanjo on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business.

Kiwanjo is a technology platform that helps users discover property listings and connect with agents, agencies, owners, and developers. We are not a real estate broker, estate agent, landlord, tenant, developer, bank, insurer, or legal advisor unless we explicitly say otherwise in writing for a specific product.

We do not own the properties listed, do not guarantee that any listing will result in a sale or lease, and do not participate in your negotiations or contracts unless clearly stated.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Kiwanjo. You are responsible for ensuring that your use complies with laws applicable to you, including property, tenancy, and anti-fraud regulations in Uganda and any other relevant jurisdiction.

Users who publish listings, photos, prices, floor plans, payment plans, or descriptions are solely responsible for their accuracy, legality, and updates. Kiwanjo may remove or moderate content that violates these terms or appears misleading, but we are under no obligation to monitor every listing.

• Verification badges and labels indicate checks we have performed at a point in time; they are not a guarantee of title, condition, ownership, or future conduct.
• Map locations, photos, and amenities are provided by listers and may be approximate or outdated.
• You must perform your own due diligence — including land title search, physical inspection, and professional legal or survey advice — before paying deposits or signing agreements.

Communications and deals often continue off the platform (phone, WhatsApp, in-person viewings, bank transfers, mobile money, etc.). Kiwanjo is not a party to those arrangements and is not responsible for any payment you make, any refund you do not receive, any property defect, any misrepresentation by another user, or any failure to complete a transaction.

Never send money to someone you do not trust. Confirm identity, title, and written terms before transferring funds. Report suspected fraud through our contact page.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate registration information and keep login credentials secure.
• Use Kiwanjo only for lawful property-related purposes.
• Not post false, discriminatory, or infringing content.
• Not scrape, reverse engineer, or overload our systems without permission.
• Not impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation or licence status.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules or pose risk to users or the platform, with or without notice where appropriate.

Kiwanjo's name, logo, software, and site design are protected by intellectual property laws. You retain rights in content you submit but grant Kiwanjo a licence to display, host, and promote that content on the platform in connection with our services.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kiwanjo and its operators, directors, employees, and partners provide the platform and all content “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.

We do not warrant that listings are genuine, that users are who they claim to be, that properties meet your expectations, or that the platform will always be available or secure.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kiwanjo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity.

Kiwanjo is not responsible for any act, omission, error, misrepresentation, negligence, or misconduct of any user, agent, agency, owner, developer, or third party — including disputes, injuries, property damage, financial loss, or failed transactions arising from your use of the platform or from dealings with others.

Where liability cannot be fully excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of Kiwanjo shall not exceed the greater of (a) the fees you paid to Kiwanjo for the service giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred United States dollars (USD 100), except where a higher minimum is required by mandatory law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Kiwanjo and its affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your content, your property transactions, or your breach of these terms or applicable law.

We may modify these terms or discontinue features at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date below. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance where permitted by law. You may stop using Kiwanjo at any time; we may terminate or restrict access in line with these terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda, except where mandatory consumer protection rules apply elsewhere.
